Base Salary
$170k - $196k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and design Customer 360 data products, applications, and data pipelines.
- Partner with Product teams to understand analytics needs and build reusable pipeline components.
- Coach engineers developing Scala and Spark data pipelines.
- Build on-premises Hadoop and Azure data pipelines using Spark, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Delta tables, Airflow, and Azure Synapse.
- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Drone.
- Migrate mainframe applications to Azure using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and application health checks.
- Build test suites with at least 90% coverage and maintain code smells below 5 using SonarQube.
- Perform code reviews, Spark data-pipeline performance tuning, and proofs of concept for generative AI, RAG, and agentic AI.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or related role.
- Five years of experience architecting data pipelines, integrating mainframe systems with Spark/Hadoop, and creating reusable pipeline components.
- Five years of experience with Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, data metadata, CI/CD, data quality monitoring, automated alerts, code reviews, and Spark performance tuning.
- Experience with Spark, Scala, Python, SQL, Azure data services, Databricks, Hadoop, Airflow, databases, observability tools, mainframe technologies, and generative AI technologies.
- Experience may be gained concurrently.
