Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, optimize, deploy, and support Python-based scanners and cybersecurity capabilities at scale.
  • Build and operationalize AI-assisted STIG ingestion, document processing, data extraction, classification, validation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Integrate and orchestrate local, self-hosted, and cloud-hosted AI models across connected, restricted, and air-gapped environments.
  • Support model selection, dataset preparation, evaluation, prompting, retrieval design, fine-tuning, inference optimization, monitoring, and production governance.
  • Expand cybersecurity coverage to applications, databases, application servers, middleware, and other software layers.
  • Contribute to architecture, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, observability, secure development, and production support.
  • Lead development activities through deployment and stabilization while communicating risks, trade-offs, dependencies, and customer findings.
  • Mentor developers and coordinate with architecture, dashboard, cybersecurity content, product, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, AI/ML, or a related field is desired; relevant professional experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least eight years of professional Python software development experience, including production software design and delivery.
  • Experience building and deploying production AI-enabled software, integrating local or self-hosted models and cloud AI services or model APIs.
  • Experience with AI/ML techniques, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, structured outputs, tool or function calling, document parsing, information extraction, agentic workflows, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience automating complex workflows with measurable operational impact and developing distributed systems for segmented or federated environments.
  • Experience deploying and optimizing models in disconnected or resource-constrained environments, including model serving, quantization, and GPU/CPU trade-offs.
  • Experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, Google Vertex AI, or comparable hosted AI services.
  • Experience with model/version management, evaluation pipelines, experiment tracking, monitoring, quality controls, and AI production governance.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs, SCAP content, RMF, CORA, federal cybersecurity compliance, and restricted or air-gapped DoD environments.
  • Experience leading development teams through task assignment, architecture and code reviews, mentoring, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience with enterprise dashboards or full-stack web applications and production Go development for agents, scanners, network services, security tooling, or distributed systems.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance is desired, while the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering, Python, network architectures, cybersecurity technologies, compliance requirements, workflow automation, data validation, and model evaluation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, customer relationship, and independent problem-solving skills.
