Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end ground segment architecture for a large-scale heterogeneous command-and-control system.
- Define architectural principles for scalability, resiliency, security, autonomy, interoperability, and vendor-agnostic integration.
- Lead the technical baseline for real-time command-and-control software, including telemetry ingest, alert monitoring, burn plans, and tactical message relay.
- Direct data pipeline, decision-making algorithm, mission visualization, cybersecurity, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and operational prototype efforts.
- Act as the senior technical authority across software teams and guide principal engineers and system integrators.
- Coordinate with systems engineering, mission operations, hardware development, government stakeholders, industry partners, and subcontractors.
- Mentor engineering staff and maintain a rigorous, innovative, accountable engineering culture.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in large-scale, mission-critical software systems, including at least five years in a chief architect or equivalent role.
- Proven experience architecting real-time command-and-control or fire-control systems in defense, aerospace, or comparable domains.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, autonomy, and real-time decision-making architectures.
- Experience with DoD software standards, Risk Management Framework, Zero Trust, cybersecurity frameworks, and mission assurance processes.
- Strong knowledge of networking, middleware, and high-availability architectures for space and ground systems.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in high-stakes environments.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for DoD Secret clearance.
- Preferred experience includes missile defense, battle management, or space-based C2 architectures; hypersonic defense engagement timelines; AI/ML-enabled autonomy; simulation frameworks; digital twin architectures; and active or obtainable security clearances, including TS/SCI.

- Base salary of $190,000-$305,000 plus equity.
