Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
- Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
- Write code, prototype, review code, debug complex issues, and solve production problems.
- Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs involving speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Define engineering solutions and execution plans for ambiguous product and technical problems.
- Set standards for code quality, system design, testing, security, observability, and production reliability.
- Review technical designs and code and provide actionable feedback.
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team.
- Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and architectural weaknesses.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and AI teams to ship products.
- Improve engineering tooling, development practices, and automation.
- Monitor systems after release, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and improve reliability.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with significant experience building and shipping production systems.
- Deep technical expertise in one or more areas including backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong system design, architecture, coding, debugging, and production engineering skills.
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
- Ability to review code, explain complex technical decisions, influence across teams, and connect technology choices to customer and business outcomes.
- Strong judgment, ownership, adaptability to ambiguity, and willingness to remain hands-on.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Candidates must be based in or able to work from the advertised location and work from the local office at least 3 days per week.
