Base Salary
$213k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect simulator environments for complex weather, new geographies such as left-hand traffic, and next-generation onboard capabilities.
- Design and implement an orchestration layer that dynamically selects and composes simulator features based on environment and context.
- Navigate, debug, and modify Waymo’s large C++ onboard and simulator codebase to resolve complex system interactions.
- Deliver robust, production-ready end-to-end simulation solutions.
- Collaborate with Simulator, Evaluation, and Onboard teams to integrate their components into complete simulation solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience in software development.
- Solid proficiency in C++ or Python and the ability to read, navigate, and debug large existing codebases.
- Experience building orchestration, dynamic configuration, or integration layers for large-scale software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver practical solutions in complex and ambiguous technical domains.
- Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, and technical partnership skills.
- Experience or interest in autonomous vehicles, robotics, simulation, or large backend infrastructure is preferred.
