Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and design, develop, implement, and support secure, scalable, maintainable full-stack applications.
- Deliver moderately complex features and epics end to end, including decomposition, estimation, planning, implementation, and release support.
- Create and maintain API/interface contracts, design specifications, system documentation, ADRs, and operational runbooks.
- Write unit, integration, contract, performance, and resiliency tests as appropriate and conduct high-quality peer reviews.
- Strengthen CI/CD and release practices, manage feature flags and deployment environments, own non-production deployments, and support production releases and rollbacks.
- Instrument applications with logging, metrics, and distributed traces; define and tune SLIs, SLOs, and alert thresholds.
- Analyze telemetry and performance results to identify bottlenecks and implement optimization and reliability improvements.
- Apply secure-by-design practices, manage dependencies and secrets, remediate security findings, and support SBOM and compliance requirements.
- Triage and resolve second-level incidents and complex defects, contribute to root cause analyses and post-mortems, and participate in rotating on-call support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product, design, QA, and operations; contribute to backlog refinement, Agile ceremonies, technical spikes, and proofs of concept.
- Mentor junior developers and interns, provide training and knowledge sharing, and lead small technical efforts across multiple engineers.
Requirements
- At least three years of relevant software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in front-end and back-end engineering, with expertise in one area and a strong foundation in the other.
- Experience with modern web application architecture, API design, interfacing systems, and business process integration.
- Proficiency with databases and data integration, including SQL, Microsoft SQL Server queries, stored procedures, tables, views, and applicable NoSQL systems.
- Experience with SDLC and Agile practices, including Scrum or Kanban, backlog refinement, estimation, code review, documentation, and automated testing.
- Hands-on DevSecOps experience with Git workflows, CI/CD tools, environment management, feature flags, and automated testing.
- Knowledge of secure coding, dependency and secrets management, security remediation, internal controls, and compliance expectations.
- Ability to instrument and analyze applications for performance and reliability and implement targeted optimizations against SLIs and SLOs.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, organization, prioritization, collaboration, mentorship, and customer-support skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, lead small technical efforts, coordinate engineers, and adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Proficiency with common IDEs and platforms, including Visual Studio, VS Code, the Atlassian suite, and Git source control.
- Bachelor’s degree in a software development-related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience as a full-stack software engineer.
