Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and data models for clinical protocol authoring workflows.
- Build scalable capabilities for content management, workflow orchestration, collaboration, approvals, versioning, audit trails, search, notifications, and reporting.
- Develop and optimize APIs and integrations with enterprise platforms, identity providers, document generation services, and clinical systems.
- Implement secure coding practices, authorization controls, audit logging, encryption, and data privacy requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers, clinical experts, UX designers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, maintainable, and compliant solutions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, Python, or another modern backend technology stack.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, API development, microservices, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
- Experience designing and optimizing relational databases, SQL queries, and data models.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, API versioning, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, role-based access control, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes life sciences, clinical development, regulatory affairs, clinical protocol authoring, clinical trial processes, structured content management, workflow engines, full-text search, document management, content platforms, GxP, Computer System Validation, electronic records controls, data integrity, and integrations with EDC, CTMS, eTMF, RTSM, RIM, or regulatory submission systems.
