Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Collaborate with product managers and architects to deliver robust cloud-based solutions and define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams by establishing standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and performance improvement in distributed systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using AI-based coding tools and interactive AI tooling, mentoring engineers, applying observability, and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Preferred: experience establishing coding standards and design patterns across teams.
