Base Salary
$147k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop autonomous capabilities end-to-end and deploy them to customers across inspection, mapping, first-responder, security, patrol, and situational-awareness use cases.
- Develop core robotics algorithms that expand the autonomous operational envelope in challenging conditions, including nighttime, urban canyons, GNSS and C2 interference, maritime environments, and precipitation.
- Triage customer issues, identify trends, and improve system resilience to field failures.
- Research and develop simulated and real-world test infrastructure.
- Design, implement, simulate, evaluate, and fly motion-planning strategies.
- Maintain and improve software across the full stack while addressing technical debt and code quality.
- Collaborate with vision, planning and controls, deep learning, infrastructure, embedded, cloud, mobile, design, product, and flight-test teams.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience writing production-level code for autonomous robots, preferably flying robots.
- High proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Practical experience implementing state-of-the-art algorithms in robotics-adjacent areas such as computer vision, state estimation, motion planning, controls, sensor characterization and integration, or UAS software and hardware development.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and commitment to clean, well-designed, maintainable, readable code.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for applying robotics to improve safety, productivity, and creativity.
