Responsibilities
- Architect and develop BIOS, BSP, and diagnostic software for Cisco core and edge routing products.
- Design, develop, and test device drivers for FPGA and high-speed networking peripherals.
- Develop and execute software test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes and validate software.
- Lead or contribute to board bring-up, embedded-system validation, and debugging.
- Provide expert technical consultation internally and externally and influence technology direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 18+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 15+ years of experience.
- Current experience programming embedded systems in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with hardware and device-driver development, Linux hardware bring-up, multithreading, event handling, and state-machine implementation.
- Experience with SONiC, ONIE, BMC, IPMI, and/or Redfish.
- Experience developing, debugging, and validating embedded systems using I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and GPIO.
- Preferred experience with GDB, KGDB, board bring-up, large-scale high-bandwidth systems, kernel modules, system design, requirements review, AI/ML, Layer 2/3 networking, network processors, optical networking, secure boot, CMIS, and SFF standards including SFP and QSFP.
