$180k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical roadmaps, migration patterns, and reference architectures for moving AWS Lambda functions and ECS services to Kubernetes on AWS EKS.
- Design, implement, and govern scalable event-driven, serverless-like workflows on Kubernetes.
- Build and manage Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and deployment tooling with Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm.
- Partner with engineering teams to assess workloads, advise on re-platforming, and develop standardized migration and deployment tools.
- Benchmark migrated services, optimize resource requests and limits, and implement monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
- Establish operational best practices, guardrails, and documentation for event-based compute on Kubernetes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering, including significant large-scale compute migration experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Kubernetes design, deployment, operations, networking, security, and scaling.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS compute services, especially AWS Lambda and ECS/Fargate.
- Proven experience migrating production workloads from VMs, Lambda, or ECS to Kubernetes.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, specifically with Terraform.
- Proficiency with Docker and modern CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills with the ability to influence decisions across teams.
- Experience with KEDA or similar Kubernetes event-driven scaling solutions is preferred.
- Experience working in or migrating to a monorepo is preferred.
- Experience leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives is preferred.
- Experience with Python or Go for tooling development and automation is preferred.
