Responsibilities
- Drive Adyen’s AI strategy through practical applications of generative AI and other AI methodologies in finance.
- Research and develop AI agents, human-in-the-loop integrity risk systems, and foundation models.
- Implement cutting-edge AI research papers as robust, scalable, production-ready code.
- Define the long-term vision for AI interactions with consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and employees.
- Mentor engineers, provide cross-organizational technical sponsorship, and promote engineering and scientific alignment.
- Collaborate hands-on with engineering teams to develop proofs of concept and resolve critical technical and performance issues.
- Engage with startups, venture capital firms, and AI labs to track advancements and identify partnership opportunities.
Requirements
- Deep engagement with the scientific AI research community and strong knowledge of state-of-the-art AI advancements.
- Significant experience and strong understanding of generative AI and large language models.
- Strong engineering skills and a track record of writing clean, efficient, scalable production code.
- Demonstrated experience implementing cutting-edge AI research papers into production-quality software.
- Ability to solve complex cross-team problems, influence strategy, and foster innovation.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, executives, and public audiences.
- Strong collaboration, empathy, influence, negotiation, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Preferred: strong product sense and ability to identify impactful AI use cases.
- Preferred: experience at AI-enabled fintech companies.
- Preferred: familiarity with classical machine learning concepts.
- Preferred: experience with conferences and publications.
- Preferred: experience working with on-premise infrastructure.
