Responsibilities
- Drive execution of Adyen’s AI strategy through practical applications of Generative AI and other AI methodologies in finance.
- Contribute to research initiatives involving AI agents for data analysis and operational workflows, human-in-the-loop integrity risk, and foundation models.
- Implement cutting-edge AI research papers as robust, scalable, production-ready code.
- Help define Adyen’s long-term AI vision, including safe and regulated interactions between AI, consumers, merchants, and financial institutions.
- Mentor engineers, share best practices, pair with engineering teams, and provide hands-on technical support on proofs of concept and performance issues.
- Engage with the broader AI community, including startups, venture capital firms, and AI labs, to identify advancements and partnership opportunities.
Requirements
- Deep engagement with the scientific AI research community and strong knowledge of state-of-the-art AI advancements.
- Significant experience and strong understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models.
- Strong engineering mindset with a record of writing clean, efficient, scalable production code.
- Demonstrated experience converting cutting-edge AI research papers into production-quality implementations.
- Ability to solve complex cross-team problems, influence strategic direction, and foster innovation.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, executives, and public audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills, including empathy, influence, negotiation, relationship building, and conflict resolution.
- Preferred: product sense and ability to identify impactful AI use cases.
- Preferred: experience in AI-enabled fintech, classical machine learning, conferences and publications, or on-premise infrastructure.
