Base Salary
$167k - $283k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead research, design, and implementation of computer vision, multimodal data, and action-model algorithms.
- Develop surgical AI and robotics pipelines and integrate, test, and evaluate vision-action and vision-language-action models.
- Build ML infrastructure, prototypes, datasets, validation methods, evaluation metrics, and scalable clinical-data pipelines.
- Integrate new machine learning and computer vision algorithms into current and future robotic platforms.
- Advance research through patents, publications, academic collaborations, and state-of-the-art algorithm development.
- Collaborate with users and clinical advisors to iterate prototypes and develop digital products for robotic surgery platforms.
Requirements
- Master’s degree with at least 6 years of industry experience developing computer vision and machine learning applications, or a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
- Strong experience building learning systems covering data collection, training, evaluation, and iterative improvement.
- Strong publication record in venues such as CVPR, ICCV, and MICCAI.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch, Python, C/C++, shell scripting, GPU-accelerated algorithms, and state-of-the-art AI, VFM, or vision-action models.
- Familiarity with control systems, robotics, kinematics, dynamics, multithreaded programming, debugging, and profiling.
- Understanding of computer vision, machine learning, generative models, and deep learning.
- Strong communication, collaboration, research, and product-prototyping skills, including comfort with incomplete requirements.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5–15% and view live and recorded surgical procedures.
- Visualization-tool experience is preferred.
