Responsibilities
- Lead a group of engineers responsible for Linux and VMware initiator stack behavior, Fibre Channel drivers, and NIC drivers.
- Develop and fix Linux initiator stack software and debug initiator issues involving NVMe, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and related protocols.
- Maintain Linux kernels for internal testing and contribute bug fixes and enhancements upstream.
- Maintain Pure’s Fibre Channel SCSI target driver, including enhancements, bug fixes, and support for new hardware.
- Maintain NIC drivers and related utilities, including resilience, RAS, multipathing, and link-health improvements.
- Analyze and optimize storage-system and protocol performance and resolve difficult kernel, system, protocol, and storage-attachment issues.
- Document supported customer configurations and VMware compatibility.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects through high-quality, timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain middleware C++ modules and test automation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of development experience.
- Strong experience writing Linux/Unix device drivers or developing kernels, preferably in storage or networking.
- Experience designing and implementing significant components in storage protocol stacks and storage systems.
- Experience with SCSI, FC-SCSI, iSCSI/FCP, NVMe Fabrics, NVMe/RoCE, NVMe/TCP, or NVMe/FC.
- Experience with Linux storage device drivers, including Fibre Channel, NVMe, RoCE, block, and multipath modules.
- Experience with VMware initiator stacks.
- Experience analyzing and optimizing storage performance and debugging difficult storage-attachment issues.
- Experience technically leading and mentoring other engineers.
- Software development experience using C, C++, and Python.
- Experience developing test automation and debugging difficult protocol, kernel, and system issues.
- Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP; Linux code upstreaming experience is preferred.
