Responsibilities
- Work directly with mission partners to enable and deploy cloud-hosted applications and services.
- Design, implement, and support solutions in Kubernetes-centric cloud environments.
- Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring through GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate and manage networking, storage, Linux/Windows hosts, and security controls.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security across the DAF CLOUDworks environment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving applications, networks, containers, and cloud platforms.
Requirements
- Principal Engineer requires a high school diploma and 9+ years, a bachelor's degree and 5+ years, or a master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Sr. Principal Engineer requires a high school diploma and 12+ years, a bachelor's degree and 8+ years, or a master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) is required.
- Must be able to obtain IAT Level II certification under DoD 8570.01, such as CASP+ or Security+, within 60 days of starting.
- Knowledge of infrastructure components, networking, storage, Linux/Windows systems, and IT security concepts is required.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, Kustomize, Helm, Linux, GitLab-focused CI/CD, application deployment, containers, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring/logging, and Python or Bash is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes-focused microservice orchestration, AWS or Azure certifications, advanced troubleshooting, database administration, PKI management, cloud-native architectures, service mesh technologies, security scanning, vulnerability management, and platform engineering experience.
