Base Salary
$280k - $320k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy for a key customer account or vertical in partnership with account and product teams.
- Guide architecture and design decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Lead discovery, advisory, architecture-review, and partner-delivered engagements from scoping through production delivery.
- Review designs, unblock other Forward Deployed Engineers, and set the quality bar for technical work.
- Represent Anthropic with senior technical and business stakeholders, including VP- and C-level leaders.
- Build production applications and agent components with Claude within customer systems and hand over systems customers can operate.
- Identify repeatable deployment patterns and share insights with Product and Engineering teams.
- Build long-term customer relationships and identify additional opportunities for AI deployment.
- Travel frequently to customer sites, approximately 25% of the time.
Requirements
- Deep system design and problem decomposition skills, including designing secure, production-ready systems in complex enterprise environments with legacy systems, identity and access, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in a senior technical, customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer or Tech Lead with consulting or product experience; former technical founders are also encouraged to apply.
- A record of making ambiguous technical decisions through architecture review, pairing, or informal mentorship.
- Experience influencing senior technical and business stakeholders, including VP- and C-level leaders.
- Extensive experience building and operating production systems, with hands-on experience with LLMs and agents.
- Strong programming skills with Python and ideally one or more additional languages such as TypeScript or Java.
- Experience leading advisory and architecture-review engagements as well as hands-on builds end to end.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, learn new domains and tools quickly, and advance safe, beneficial AI systems.
- Experience in financial services, healthcare/life sciences, or another enterprise vertical is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field.
Benefits
- Annual base salary range is $280,000–$320,000 USD.
- Anthropic sponsors visas and will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa if an offer is made, though sponsorship cannot be successfully provided for every role and candidate.
- Staff are currently expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
- The role requires approximately 25% travel to customer sites.
