Base Salary
$189k - $315k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, maintainable, high-performance systems powering critical talent products and workflows.
- Lead architectural decisions from early prototypes through production, designing fault-tolerant, highly available, scalable, and extensible systems.
- Own software throughout its lifecycle and establish standards for observability, reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with product managers, designers, AI Platform engineers, and customers to shape the roadmap and develop products from ambiguous problems.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, abstractions, engineering practices, and mentorship.
- Influence the technical direction, culture, structure, and ways of working of an early team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack software development experience, including designing and operating large-scale systems.
- Strongly preferred experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, clean abstractions, event-driven architectures, and React.
- Strong command of computer science fundamentals and distributed-system design, including asynchronous processing, caching, data modeling, and database scaling.
- Experience designing extensible services, APIs, or primitives used across multiple products and workflows.
- Demonstrated product judgment, interest in customer behavior and product design, and ability to deliver intuitive experiences.
- Track record of defining technical direction, scoping complex work, reviewing designs, navigating ambiguity, and helping engineers grow.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, unstructured environments and proactively improving products and engineering practices.
