Responsibilities
- Partner with business and domain teams to translate complex challenges into high-value AI product opportunities.
- Rapidly prototype, test, demonstrate, and refine solutions with users.
- Build end-to-end AI applications using Python, TypeScript, React, foundation models, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Develop retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, agentic workflows, and automation for life sciences use cases.
- Integrate products with enterprise APIs, data platforms, identity services, and authorized business systems.
- Deploy secure and reliable applications on Amazon Web Services using Amazon Bedrock and other cloud services.
- Establish automated testing, evaluation, observability, continuous integration and deployment, and sustainable operational practices.
- Embed privacy, security, traceability, human oversight, and appropriate controls throughout the product lifecycle.
- Measure adoption and business outcomes and turn successful solutions into reusable capabilities.
Requirements
- Approximately 8–12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years building and delivering production software.
- Proven ownership of applications or products from problem discovery through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Strong Python expertise building complete, production-ready applications beyond notebooks, prompts, or model endpoints.
- Working-to-advanced TypeScript, JavaScript, and React experience building functional user interfaces.
- Strong engineering fundamentals across APIs, data modelling, databases, authentication, testing, containers, and cloud deployment.
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and maintainable production solutions.
- Desirable experience building generative AI solutions with foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and tool integrations.
- Desirable experience delivering solutions in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or another regulated environment.
- Skills such as data science, machine learning, deep learning, NLP, data governance, SQL, Pandas, R, statistical analysis, and data visualization are desired.
Benefits
- Annual base salary range of 1,402,380.00–2,604,420.00 CZK, with possible performance-based bonus.
- Flexible and hybrid working options where possible; the role is based in Prague and Novartis does not offer relocation support.
