Responsibilities
- Design, implement, integrate, and test firmware for high-volume battery-operated RF AMI and metering products.
- Develop firmware for sensors and communication paths used in metering products.
- Develop PC-based tools and applications for metrology and product-performance demonstration, testing, and analysis.
- Develop embedded support for module testing and code-coverage assessment, including Ceedling-based work.
- Create test plans and fixtures for continuous-integration functional testing.
- Assist with analog and digital circuit design, microcontroller pin assignments, and PCB schematic and layout work.
- Collaborate with development, test, quality assurance, support, and third-party teams to integrate technologies and investigate defective products.
- Prepare documentation and provide technical guidance within a cross-functional engineering team.
- Travel domestically to the United States as required for business needs and participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- At least 2 years of embedded OS and/or embedded systems development experience.
- Experience writing and optimizing C code for microcontrollers in resource-limited environments.
- Experience writing PC-based programs and scripts for testing and data analysis.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong testing, troubleshooting, and board-level debugging skills.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, meet aggressive goals, and provide technical guidance.
- Fluent English communication skills and willingness to travel to the United States for business needs.
- Preferred experience with utility metering or other high-volume products; MSP430 or ARM Cortex-M3 development; and system specifications, product requirements, and prototype test plans.
