Responsibilities

  • Define and manage technical architecture for customer vehicle integration between Wayve software and OEM or Tier 1 vehicle systems.
  • Translate product requirements and customer program needs into technical specifications, interface requirements, and validation-ready requirements.
  • Define integration boundaries, ownership models, assumptions, dependencies, interface contracts, and open technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects to assess feasibility and align customer integrations with Wayve’s core architecture.
  • Coordinate with Validation Engineers to define integration test requirements and ensure customer requirements are verifiable.
  • Create and maintain interface specifications, integration guides, architecture diagrams, decision records, and other program-facing documentation.
  • Identify integration complexity, technical gaps, dependencies, risks, and required partner deliverables.
  • Represent Wayve’s product architecture and integration approach in OEM and Tier 1 technical discussions.
  • Bridge customer programs and internal teams while avoiding unnecessary fragmentation of the core product architecture.

Requirements

  • Experience defining or contributing to technical architecture for ADAS, autonomous driving, embedded software, or vehicle systems, particularly at the software–vehicle interface.
  • Ability to define technical boundaries, ownership models, assumptions, dependencies, and interface contracts between internal software and external vehicle systems.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electronics, embedded software constraints, ECU integration, real-time execution, timing, diagnostics, and production vehicle software environments.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols and architectures such as CAN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP, and AUTOSAR.
  • Experience working with or integrating systems for automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Ability to translate product requirements and customer discussions into clear technical specifications and validation-ready requirements.
  • Experience collaborating across Product, Software Architecture, Hardware, Calibration, System Safety, Validation, and customer-facing teams at unit, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation, diagrams, and reviews.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience as a Tier 1 automotive supplier, automotive OEM integration projects, autonomous driving end-to-end approaches, or sensor integration is desirable.
  • Knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and transformer architectures is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded Linux, QNX, Adaptive AUTOSAR, DDS, SOME/IP, or custom automotive middleware is desirable.
  • Experience with cameras, radar, IMU, GNSS, calibration, timestamping, and synchronization is desirable.
