Responsibilities
- Develop VLA models, generalist robot Transformers, imitation-learning algorithms, and diffusion policies for complex robotic tasks.
- Design, test, and refine algorithms for real-world autonomy, navigation, spatial reasoning, and generalization.
- Improve data collection and model-training workflows across new tasks and data sources.
- Collaborate with reinforcement learning teams using simulated and real-world data.
- Optimize and distill neural networks for real-time deployment on edge hardware such as Nvidia Jetson Thor.
- Build, lead, and mentor a software engineering team.
- Provide technical guidance to product managers and executives.
- Maintain documentation, guidelines, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in engineering, robotics, machine learning, or a related field.
- At least three years of industry or research experience, with applicable PhD experience accepted.
- Strong knowledge of supervised and self-supervised learning, Transformer architectures, policy optimization, imitation learning, generative AI, and diffusion models.
- Proven experience developing VLA models or large-scale generalist robot models such as RT-2 or Octo.
- Strong robotics background, including autonomy and navigation.
- Experience deploying artificial neural networks on hardware platforms.
- Ability to prototype algorithms and train deep neural networks using Python and PyTorch.
- PhD in robotics, engineering, computer science, machine learning, or a similar discipline, or equivalent research experience, is preferred.
- Publications at top-tier conferences are preferred.
- Software team management experience is preferred.
- Production-level modern C++ experience is preferred.
