Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and maintain resilient backend services and database infrastructure.
- Develop system automation, tooling, and backend scripts using Python and Perl.
- Build high-performance, resilient applications with Java and C++.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems, including processes, logs, CPU, memory, disk I/O, and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage or interface with relational and in-memory database systems and optimize schemas, indexes, and transactions.
- Use Git workflows including branching, merging, pull requests, code reviews, and conflict resolution.
- Support database high availability through replication, multi-site configurations, or failover clusters.
- Integrate automated testing and deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and Perl for system automation, tooling, and backend scripting.
- Hands-on experience developing with Java and C++.
- Deep familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, system architecture, and command-line navigation.
- Ability to analyze processes, inspect system logs, diagnose resource bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
- Comfort working in headless server environments through SSH and terminal interfaces.
- Practical experience managing or interfacing with at least one relational or in-memory database such as PostgreSQL, GridGain, or Oracle TimesTen, or equivalent technologies.
- Foundational understanding of SQL, schema design, index optimization, and transaction mechanics.
- Proficiency with Git workflows and collaborative code review practices.
- Understanding of physical or logical database replication and high-availability configurations is preferred.
- Experience integrating automated test and deployment pipelines is preferred.
