Responsibilities
- Own hands-on design and development of complex, enterprise-scale Java applications.
- Lead technical direction for modules and subsystems while remaining actively involved in implementation.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java systems into modern, cloud-ready architectures.
- Design and maintain backend and full-stack features, REST APIs, services, data models, and integration logic.
- Support microservices, event-driven, message-based, API-based, file-based, and cloud-native solutions.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, layered or hexagonal architecture, and technical trade-off analysis.
- Perform unit testing, static analysis, performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, frontend, and global stakeholder teams throughout product delivery.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers across teams.
- Contribute to Agile delivery activities, automated builds, deployments, testing, and coding standards.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.
- At least 7 years of hands-on Java software development experience on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring or Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SQL, Angular, React, MongoDB, and Eclipse RCP.
- Experience with software design patterns, object-oriented design, layered architectures, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, unit testing, mocking frameworks, static code analysis, profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning.
- Working knowledge of Hibernate or JPA, transaction management, microservices, service communication, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud development, Azure Service Bus or similar messaging systems, Azure DevOps, Docker, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
- Experience in product development environments and understanding of product development lifecycle practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, written communication, learning, and continuous improvement abilities.
- Experience with shipping or logistics workflows or scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is preferred.
