Responsibilities
- Own the design and multi-quarter delivery of Vanta’s enterprise organization model.
- Define core platform abstractions for diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements.
- Design safe migration paths from the existing production system to a multi-tenant organizational structure.
- Deliver customer value incrementally while maintaining a long-term technical direction.
- Drive execution and alignment across squads and teams without direct authority.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, Design, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Set technical standards and shape architecture across teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of deep backend engineering experience.
- Experience leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
- Experience designing platform abstractions that address general enterprise requirements rather than one-off customer requests.
- Track record of shipping complex technical initiatives incrementally in independent phases.
- Experience operating effectively across teams without direct ownership authority.
- Deep familiarity with tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access boundary design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex systems to technical, product, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Data residency or GovCloud experience is preferred but not required.
- Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
