Base Salary

$75k - $80k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Write efficient, maintainable modern C++ code using C++17 or C++20 and participate in code reviews.
  • Contribute to multi-physics spacecraft simulation libraries covering rigid-body dynamics, thermal systems, attitude control, propulsion, power, sensors, and actuators.
  • Implement coupled physics algorithms modeling interactions among spacecraft subsystems.
  • Develop and test time-stepping algorithms, solvers, and integration schemes for real-time and faster-than-real-time simulation.
  • Maintain libraries that provide Python and C++ APIs to internal applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams using simulation APIs for mission planning, spacecraft operations algorithms, and trade-space analyses.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and sprint planning while applying software quality and delivery standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Exposure to C++ or a similar compiled language through coursework, internships, personal projects, or research; familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Foundational knowledge of object-oriented software development, software testing, data structures and algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include physics-based modeling and simulation experience, numerical methods exposure, spacecraft subsystem knowledge, coordinate frames and transformations, quaternion mathematics, orbital mechanics, model validation, Git, and CI/CD pipeline exposure.
