Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable and extensible components for the observability platform.
- Lead the implementation of innovative features and capabilities using emerging technologies.
- Evaluate open source technologies to find the best fit for our needs.
- Collaborate with Application Development and Product Management teams to scale services.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Conduct performance analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Drive the adoption of observability best practices across the organization.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in the observability space.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience building highly scalable distributed systems.
- Programming experience in Python and Golang.
- Excellent data structure and algorithm skills.
- Proven experience designing for scalability, availability, and reliability.
- Experience with observability frameworks and cloud-native landscapes.
- Experience with public cloud ecosystems, preferably GCP.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and Telegraph.
- Comfortable with on-call rotation schedules.
- Experience designing and implementing large, fault-tolerant distributed systems around time series databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in platform engineering is highly desirable.
- Bonus points for contributions to the open source community.
