Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power-electronic software and specifications for motor controls used in power tools and outdoor products.
  • Manage several team members and ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality expectations.
  • Generate application-level embedded code from the platform and develop solutions for electronic-system issues.
  • Implement and validate electronic designs using testing and MATLAB simulation.
  • Develop software verification and validation procedures, including unit and integration testing.
  • Support cost, performance, and quality objectives for electronic systems, components, and sub-assemblies.
  • Translate customer requirements into software specifications and analyze complex technical situations.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Regulatory, and project teams.
  • Handle three to four concurrent projects and support leadership in achieving organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited electrical or automation engineering college.
  • At least 10 years of experience in embedded-firmware research or product development.
  • Experience managing more than three team members in parallel.
  • Extensive experience writing and debugging embedded microcontroller software in C/C++.
  • Experience with motor-control techniques, including field-oriented control and sensored or sensorless control.
  • Experience with closed-loop control and feedback systems for AC and DC motors.
  • Familiarity with static analysis, version control, unit testing, bug tracking, automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration tools.
  • Experience with Agile or V-model development processes.
  • Ability to generate and evaluate innovative ideas, influence the organization, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
