Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java 21/Jakarta EE backend applications on JBoss EAP 8.
- Define backend technical direction and make architectural decisions for scalable, maintainable, and reliable software.
- Develop REST, SOAP, JMS, and enterprise messaging integrations.
- Work with Oracle databases on data modeling, performance tuning, schema evolution, and persistence.
- Own application releases, deployments, environment readiness, and production rollout activities.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and coaching.
- Promote coding standards, architecture governance, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, stakeholders, QA, Frontend, DevOps, and Operations teams.
- Support frontend teams when backend integration expertise is needed.
Requirements
- Expert-level hands-on Java development experience, including Java 21, Jakarta EE, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven multi-module applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and enterprise application design principles.
- Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP services with technologies such as JAX-RS and JAX-WS.
- Strong experience with Oracle databases, SQL optimization, schema design, and data persistence.
- Experience with JMS and enterprise messaging platforms.
- Knowledge of testing practices using JUnit, Mockito, and integration testing frameworks.
- Experience with release management, deployment processes, and production support.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and code review skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on engineering with technical leadership responsibilities.
- Preferred experience with Angular, TypeScript, OpenAPI Generator, API governance, Flyway, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Docker, Kotlin, automated integration testing, platform modernization, and distributed cross-functional teams.
