Base Salary
$170k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Starshield security infrastructure, including cryptographic and other security-critical services.
- Develop security features for Starshield routers, dishes, gateways, satellites, and related systems.
- Design security into factory processes and provide supporting network services.
- Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations to other engineering teams.
- Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline plus 5+ years of professional security software development experience, or 7+ years of professional security software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with at least one software development language, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise-scale infrastructure.
- Preferred experience includes contributing security improvements to complex systems and working with trusted platform modules and hardware security modules.
- Preferred knowledge includes network protocols, the TCP/IP stack, and UDP-based protocols.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline and an active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, work independently and collaboratively, navigate complex systems, learn new technologies, and handle ambiguity.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed and successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

- Annual base salary range is $170,000.00-$265,000.00, excluding other compensation elements.
