Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, secure, maintain, and upgrade highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage containerized workloads and Kubernetes resources, networking, security controls, secrets, storage, and service meshes.
- Diagnose complex performance and operational issues across the Kubernetes infrastructure and application stack.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying containerized applications to Kubernetes.
- Provision and manage infrastructure declaratively with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Package and deploy Kubernetes applications using Helm charts and Kustomize.
- Automate operational tasks and build custom tooling with Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Implement GitOps workflows and automated deployments with tools such as Argo CD.
- Operate monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing solutions for Kubernetes clusters and applications.
- Apply DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles while administering Linux systems and troubleshooting networking, filesystems, and processes.
Requirements
- Current IAM Level II certification or qualification to satisfy the DOD 8570 IAT requirement.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph.
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, securing, maintaining, and upgrading Kubernetes clusters, including EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or self-managed environments.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes primitives, Kubernetes networking, network policies, service meshes, DNS, RBAC, admission controls, vulnerability scanning, secret management, and network security.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Tekton, or Argo Workflows.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation, plus Helm and Kustomize.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Practical experience with GitOps workflows and Argo CD.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, OpenSearch, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Strong Linux system administration, networking, troubleshooting, Git, testing, and distributed-systems debugging skills.
