Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end architectures for financial services systems, payment platforms, channels, integrations, and external networks.
- Develop solution, application, data, cloud, and integration architectures, including feasibility studies, technical concepts, proofs of concept, and software scaling plans.
- Assess and modernize complex IT and financial services landscapes through platform migrations, vendor transitions, cloud adoption, and application modernization.
- Define integration, API, messaging, security, fraud, regulatory, and architecture standards for transactional environments.
- Support IT transformation, mergers and acquisitions, process restructuring, application development optimization, and implementation projects.
- Evaluate products, software packages, and technology solutions and assess quality assurance for IT implementations.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, present findings to senior stakeholders, build consensus, and mentor teams.
- Drive innovation, contribute to proposals and project scoping, and collaborate across product, engineering, risk, compliance, and operations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of technology consulting or software engineering experience, including more than 1 year in IT or business architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, computer science, information systems, system controls and engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in or with financial services, such as banking, payments, capital markets, or insurance.
- Experience translating business use cases into pragmatic, production-ready technology architectures, preferably in regulated or transaction-intensive environments.
- Ability to work across product, engineering, risk, compliance, and operations to deliver end-to-end technology solutions.
- Extensive expertise in one or more of cloud technologies and architectures, integration methodologies and API architecture, databases, data platform architecture, data analytics, AI and GenAI architecture, application modernization, mainframe architecture, or process automation.
- Strong technical knowledge, engineering rigor, creative problem-solving, executive communication, and an agile mindset.
- Business-fluent written and spoken English skills.
- GenAI tool fluency, including proven use of tools such as ChatGPT or Claude and the ability to validate their responses.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and work with BCG teams, potentially involving significant travel.
