Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded platform systems for next-generation networking switches and routers.
- Integrate PHY drivers from multiple vendors and implement necessary Linux operating-system changes and upgrades.
- Develop platform infrastructure and embedded software device drivers for networking hardware.
- Work with Linux networking components, virtual-machine support, hypervisors, and Kubernetes- or Docker-based microservices platforms.
- Develop and debug Linux drivers for FPGA/CPLD, I2C, SPI, MMC/SD, PCI, USB, SATA, DMA, and interrupt handling.
- Debug kernel, driver, and application-level software using GDB.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple sites and time zones as an individual contributor.
Requirements
- BE/B.Tech or ME/MTech, preferably in Electronics and Communications or Computer Science.
- 12–20 years of experience in switch/router hardware and software architecture, networking, platform infrastructure, and embedded device-driver development.
- Knowledge of networking domains, Broadcom MACs and PHYs, Barefoot components and their SDKs, BMC, and IPMI.
- Experience with Ethernet ports and optics up to 400G/800G, breakout capabilities, auto-negotiation, and FEC.
- Experience with Linux networking components and ONL/ONLP.
- Experience with Linux embedded boot environments and tools such as U-Boot, ONIE, and UEFI/BIOS is helpful.
- Programming experience in C, C++, shell scripting, and Python.
- Experience with virtual machines, Docker, and microservices architecture is helpful.
- Experience using Git and Jenkins for source version control and development environments.
- Strong kernel, driver, and application debugging skills.
