Responsibilities
- Develop applications on Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Digest requirement changes and synthesize them into working designs and efficient code.
- Integrate systems using data-driven designs, subsystem interfaces, APIs, and complex workflows.
- Work with asynchronous messaging systems and server-side programming languages.
- Adapt software to address bugs, specification updates, and customer needs.
- Report information to technical leads and customers while working independently in a collaborative environment.
- Develop container-based applications and data-centric software designs when applicable.
Requirements
- Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of software development experience, a master’s degree and 3 years, or a PhD and 1 year; Level 4 requires a bachelor’s degree and 8 years, a master’s degree and 6 years, or a PhD and 4 years.
- An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI access; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience developing applications on Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Exposure to Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Basic understanding of asynchronous messaging systems such as NATS, ActiveMQ, and gRPC.
- Working knowledge of one or more of Python, C++, Node.js, Go, or Java.
- Knowledge of system integration, data-driven design, subsystem interfaces, APIs, and complex workflows.
- Preferred qualifications include satellite ground-system mission management and control software experience, C++ and Python proficiency, container-based application development, and experience with Unit Test, Code Coverage, SonarQube, Fortify, and data schemas.
