Responsibilities
- Scale data processing and storage systems from terabytes to petabytes and beyond.
- Build and maintain bidirectional, real-time integrations with EHR systems, scaling from dozens to hundreds or thousands of integrations.
- Improve core systems to support 100x growth in practices, patients, and developers.
- Own cross-functional engineering projects from technical design and decomposition through launch and rollout.
- Partner with engineering leaders and product managers to generate, prioritize, and deliver engineering goals.
- Help establish the technical and cultural foundation for NexHealth’s growing Canadian engineering team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on scalable backend systems and platforms.
- Deep experience integrating and scaling storage systems, cloud-native services, and open source projects, including the Kubernetes ecosystem, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of common DevOps tools and practices.
- Strong understanding of quality and security engineering principles.
- Systems-level understanding of distributed systems, component interactions, customer journeys, and data flows.
- Technical expertise, leadership skills, and a vision for high-quality software and engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with technical and business stakeholders.
