Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the React Native mobile test strategy, including coverage, reliability, speed, and test-pyramid decisions.
- Build and maintain mobile E2E automation in Maestro or Detox, including test data, device configuration, helpers, and reporting.
- Integrate automated suites into GitHub Actions CI and improve flakiness, parallelization, artifact management, diagnosis time, and runtime.
- Use AI tools for test authoring, failure clustering, coverage insights, and proposed fixes while establishing appropriate review guardrails.
- Partner with product and engineering on shift-left quality, acceptance criteria, risk identification, and defect prevention.
- Use Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to connect test coverage with production issues and customer impact.
- Perform targeted exploratory testing for high-risk releases when appropriate.
Requirements
- At least 2–3+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with a track record of maintaining stable automated suites.
- Hands-on experience with Maestro or Detox.
- Experience introducing AI-assisted testing practices such as test generation, failure clustering, or coverage analytics with sensible review controls.
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills for building test helpers, tooling, and debugging into applications.
- Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including GitHub Actions or similar tools, flakiness reduction, parallelization, artifact management, and runtime control.
- Comfort with mobile E2E automation, or strong E2E experience on another platform with a credible plan to become productive on mobile.
- Ability to operate independently and drive improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting.
- Experience testing React Native applications is desirable.
- Mobile performance and reliability experience, including crash reporting, startup time, memory, or battery awareness, is desirable.
- API and contract testing experience, including opinions on test data and environment strategy, is desirable.
