Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
- Build new features and products as part of an integrated engineering team.
- Use accounting expertise to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows.
- Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
- Provide support and consulting for software systems usage.
- Design software applications and features in Go.
- Build reports and automations using Python and SQL.
- Build and maintain scalable distributed architecture.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design products.
- Develop and collect metrics for continuous improvement.
- Deliver testable features that meet reporting and compliance standards.
- Mentor engineering teammates and help elevate their knowledge and experience.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building and serving APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Required experience with Claude or an equivalent large language model tool.
- Experience bringing forward new ideas and building consensus.
- Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst is preferred.
- Understanding of reconciliation, reporting, compliance, and other financial operations is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Java, Go, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog for production monitoring and alerting is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerized services deployed with Kubernetes on AWS is preferred.
- Demonstrated history of delivering commercial APIs and web applications is preferred.
