Responsibilities
- Lead customer technical discovery and identify mission or business problems, system constraints, decision criteria, and Code Metal’s role.
- Define system architectures and evaluate alternatives through trade studies, feasibility assessments, and technical spikes.
- Translate ambiguous problems into technical approaches, system concepts, success criteria, statements of work, and proposal content.
- Own the technical scope, interfaces, success criteria, and architectural decisions for proofs of concept.
- Design customer evaluations and proofs of concept that demonstrate product differentiators and support technical and commercial decisions.
- Coordinate across growth, Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, product, core engineering, and research teams.
Requirements
- Experience leading customer technical discovery and shaping solution architectures, evaluations, or proofs of concept.
- Strong technical background in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar domains and synthesize technical information quickly.
- Strong systems thinking, tradeoff analysis, and problem decomposition skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leading architecture discussions and developing technical proposals and statements of work.
- Ability to operate independently as a self-starter.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, estimated at 20%-40%.
- Preferred experience includes architecting complex software-hardware systems, broad cross-domain software experience, edge or embedded computing, U.S. Government programs or dual-use technologies, and an active Secret or Top Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
