Responsibilities
- Design and develop software functionality using established coding standards and patterns.
- Write unit and integration tests for developed code.
- Participate in team code reviews and all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Write clean Java code and collaborate with a self-organizing team to design, build, and run products and services.
- Develop and operate products hosted on premises and in the cloud.
- Review and refactor existing code to improve platform reliability, robustness, performance, and operability.
- Deliver incremental business value within an agile sprint-based environment.
- Help ensure the quality of products and services delivered by the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a related scientific or engineering field.
- At least 3 years of software development experience using Java.
- At least 3 years of experience working in agile teams.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Java.
- Experience developing RESTful applications with Spring Boot or related frameworks.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, DDL, and ACID concepts.
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Self-motivation, technical passion, teamwork, and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services is preferred but not required.
- Experience with microservices architecture using Docker containers is preferred but not required.
- Experience with DevOps and tools such as Maven and Jenkins is preferred but not required.
