Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build frontend and backend features for Interest Pages, Notifications, Badges, follows, user profiles, blocking, and other engagement surfaces.
- Own software development work from design through deployment and operations for user-facing IMDb products.
- Collaborate with product managers, technical program managers, engineers, and partner organizations to define requirements and deliver engagement-focused features.
- Write maintainable, documented code and participate in code reviews, coaching teammates on quality, testing, and system design.
- Identify operational root causes and implement permanent fixes to keep services reliable and scalable.
- Monitor operational health and engagement metrics and participate in triage, design discussions, pairing, and mentoring.
- Evaluate generative AI tools and recommend adoption when they improve development productivity or solution quality.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
