Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and launch high-quality software systems and core product features.
- Design and implement distributed systems, full-stack web applications, and automation workflows across AWS technologies.
- Prepare technical requirements, software design specifications, and system architecture.
- Develop software for a broad range of Amazon Devices.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, customer, business, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Establish software development best practices and technical standards, including documentation and design quality.
- Mentor junior engineers and consult with engineers across the organization on architecture and design.
- Write reliable software with careful attention to customer data security and privacy.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to new and existing systems architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
- Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of software engineering best practices, software architectures, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
