Responsibilities
- Monitor production availability and take a holistic view of system health.
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Gather and analyze operating system and application metrics for performance tuning and fault-finding.
- Automate processes and create sustainable systems and services that improve reliability and reduce disruptions.
- Partner with development teams on service improvements, system design, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Balance feature delivery speed and system reliability using defined service-level objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in similar positions such as Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer.
- Programming experience with one or more high-level languages, including Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Expertise in cloud computing technologies, particularly AWS.
- Solid experience administering and optimizing Kubernetes, including CRDs.
- Proficiency with provisioning tools and GitHub Actions.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- AWS vendor certification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Experience in a Java-based development environment is beneficial.
- Fluent English is required; working knowledge of German is advantageous.
