Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver software features across the Verily technology stack.
- Build modular, composable, and interoperable platform components for precision-health data storage and processing.
- Analyze technical design problems, compare implementation options, and propose solutions.
- Design and implement scalable data ingestion, processing, and analytics pipelines.
- Collaborate effectively with the development team while working independently.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- 10+ years of experience as an industry software developer.
- Expertise building software and systems on GCP, AWS, or Azure, with GCP preferred.
- Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
- Preferred experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL.
- Proficiency with Apache Beam and associated data ingestion and processing technologies.
- Strong understanding of ETL principles and best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases.
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, particularly HL7 FHIR.
Benefits
- Full-time position based in Canada.
- Base salary range of CAD 175,000–197,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; employment-based visa or work permit sponsorship is unavailable.
