Base Salary
$171k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define vehicle connectivity and communication architecture.
- Design and implement a highly reliable, low-latency vehicle communications framework for diverse mobile network conditions.
- Address networking, performance, and observability concerns in the vehicle runtime.
- Work with autonomy engineers to meet data-throughput performance and efficiency requirements.
- Provide engineering support for field testing and fleet operations.
- Mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, and drive the long-term vehicle-to-cloud connectivity roadmap.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Expert-level C++ programming skills and experience designing high-performance, thread-safe, memory-efficient systems in Linux.
- Ability to work across multiple programming languages and paradigms.
- Experience with networking protocols including TCP, UDP, gRPC, and HTTP, as well as network health monitoring frameworks.
- Experience with Linux network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively in large codebases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.
- Preferred: strong Go programming skills, performance evaluation and optimization experience, and experience with safety-critical systems.
