Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable geospatial system architectures aligned with DHS standards.
- Conduct gap analysis and identify technical and functional requirements.
- Research and recommend emerging geospatial technologies.
- Lead systems integration and architecture design across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Manage geospatial data infrastructure including geodatabases and cloud repositories.
- Support operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of GIS applications.
- Develop and execute testing plans to validate system performance.
- Create and update architectural documentation and technical guides.
- Ensure compliance with federal IT policies and security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with organizational goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Architect supporting geospatial systems in government or enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in systems engineering, architecture design, and GIS technologies, especially Esri products.
- Experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GovCloud.
- Proficient in database design and management, including geodatabases.
- Knowledge of federal IT security frameworks and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and DevSecOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
