AI Architect (Contractor)
TELUS DigitalResponsibilities
- Define and roll out organization-wide standards for spec-driven development.
- Operationalize an AI-driven development lifecycle across requirements, design, build, review, testing, and operations.
- Create and tailor AI guardrails, steering documents, constitutions, agent rules, review gates, and quality checks for development teams.
- Evaluate, select, and roll out AI development tooling such as Kiro and GitHub Spec Kit.
- Work directly with development teams by pairing, writing code, removing blockers, and validating standards in real delivery.
- Translate business requirements into specifications usable by people and AI agents.
- Measure adoption and impact and iterate standards as tooling evolves.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with spec-driven development and tools such as Kiro, GitHub Spec Kit, or equivalent.
- Direct experience authoring or working with steering documents, constitutions, and agent guardrails.
- Practical experience building, integrating, or operating agentic AI systems.
- Broad understanding of current AI technologies and their application to software delivery.
- Technical leadership experience sufficient to work credibly with stakeholders and in pull requests.
- Strong Java and Spring experience.
- Experience designing and building production microservices.
- Experience defining or rolling out AI development standards across multiple teams or an engineering organization is preferred.
- Experience driving adoption of new working practices despite initial team resistance is preferred.
