Base Salary
$200k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own availability, disaster recovery, backups, multi-region failover architecture, and recovery exercises for enterprise clients.
- Establish production monitoring, alerting, SLOs, on-call rotation, and incident response processes.
- Own AWS security controls for SOC 2 and HIPAA, including organization guardrails, least-privilege IAM, KMS/encryption, vulnerability remediation, and continuous audit evidence.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, Terraform/IaC foundations, preview environments, test infrastructure, and platform guardrails for AI coding agents.
- Architect AI SRE agents and build policy-as-code, deployment verification, and agent-operated operations tooling.
- Set the strategy, priorities, status cadence, and operating rhythm for platform work.
Requirements
- Deep experience owning production AWS infrastructure, including IAM, networking, KMS, containers, and managed databases.
- Strong Terraform/IaC and CI/CD expertise, with experience treating pipelines and environments as products.
- Hands-on experience taking a company through at least one SOC 2, HITRUST, or ISO 27001 audit cycle and implementing its technical controls.
- Strong SRE fundamentals covering SLOs, incident management, and disaster recovery design.
- Prior experience leading engineering teams as a tech lead or engineering manager, including delegation, ambiguity reduction, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.
- Significant healthcare or regulated-industry experience and HIPAA fluency are preferred.
- Experience with policy-as-code, compliance automation, being a first infrastructure hire, founding or leading a platform team, or building infrastructure for LLM/agent systems is preferred.
