Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Starburst Galaxy.
- Design and build core operational infrastructure using immutable cloud infrastructure principles.
- Own APIs for provisioning and upgrading cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Build continuous delivery and developer-environment tooling that enables engineering productivity.
- Create observability tooling and infrastructure primitives for introspection and administration of Galaxy services.
- Support the product in production and improve engineering processes, tests, and systems.
- Review peers’ pull requests and design proposals and collaborate with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience with cloud infrastructure architecture and orchestration.
- Professional software development experience with Java and TypeScript.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
- Interest in infrastructure engineering and a demonstrated commitment to software engineering.
- Experience developing for or operating Trino is a strong plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally for onboarding, offsites, customer engagements, and other company events.
