Responsibilities
- Integrate ML scores and risk signals into account creation, credit, payment, and generation flows with reliable timeout and fallback behavior.
- Build configurable enforcement services for rules, rate limits, account restrictions, and credit or payment controls.
- Develop APIs and workflows for case review, decision-history inspection, and applying or reversing restrictions.
- Design for retries, duplicate events, concurrent requests, safe rollouts, monitoring, and auditability.
- Work across other teams’ codebases and collaborate with ML, analytics, and operations to scope, ship, and verify backend protections.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience taking an ambiguous problem to a production system and explaining personal decisions, contributions, and results.
- Ability to build reliable backend services involving APIs, data models, queues, transactions, idempotency, concurrency, external-service integrations, and lifecycle debugging.
- Ability to independently choose next steps, remove blockers, reduce scope to test ideas, adapt to evidence, and persist through difficult problems.
- Ability to translate risk requirements into backend behavior with ML, analytics, and operations teams and use operator and customer feedback to improve controls.
- Ability to accept feedback, share knowledge, and build systems that teammates can operate and extend.
- Preferred experience includes fraud prevention, payments risk, platform abuse, risk-scoring integrations, rules engines, rate limiters, case management, appeals, or risk operations tooling.
- Familiarity with Stripe and experience with real-time scoring or graph-based account linkage systems are preferred.
- Python or Go experience is preferred.
