Software Engineer II/III
Rent the RunwayResponsibilities
- Build and improve the internal React application used by the Customer Experience team to support customers.
- Own features end-to-end across interfaces, Java/Kotlin services, and well-tested APIs.
- Build and evolve integrations with payment, fraud, tax, and other third-party eCommerce providers.
- Deprecate outdated functionality and improve the quality, reliability, scalability, and observability of revenue-critical flows.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to deliver software solutions with business value at scale.
- Contribute to code reviews, mentorship, and shared technical direction in a cross-functional team.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related degree.
- At least four years of practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Maven, and npm.
- Experience with cloud/web-scale microservices, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub, Git, GitHub Actions, AMQP/RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Splunk.
- Proven experience building responsive, well-tested web applications with component architecture and state management.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, backend services, and APIs.
- Experience shipping multiple large, complex projects and learning new tools and technologies quickly.
- Strong communication, collaboration, inclusivity, initiative, ownership, and mentoring skills.
- Comfort with AI-assisted development tools including Gemini CLI, Claude, and Copilot.
