Responsibilities
- Monitor production availability and take a holistic view of system health.
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Improve the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of software solutions.
- Measure and optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and support fault-finding.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Gather and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance tuning.
- Partner with development teams to improve services.
- Contribute to system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Create sustainable systems and services through automation and balance development speed with reliability using service-level objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in similar positions, such as Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer.
- Programming ability using one or more high-level languages, including Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Expertise in cloud computing technologies, especially AWS.
- Solid knowledge and experience administering and optimizing Kubernetes, including CRDs.
- Proficiency with CI/CD and provisioning tools such as GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- AWS vendor certification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Experience in a Java-based development environment is beneficial.
- Fluent English; working knowledge of German is advantageous.
